FAQs
Sony IMX678 Sensor Explained
The Sony IMX678 is an advanced 4K imaging sensor with STARVIS 2 technology, delivering superior low-light performance and reduced noise. It combines high resolution, enhanced HDR, and fast autofocus, making it ideal for dash cams, security systems, and professional imaging devices.
eMMC 5.1 Built-In Storage – Key Benefits
The F77 dash cam features eMMC 5.1 (Embedded MultiMediaCard) storage, a high-performance solution typically used in smartphones and tablets. This integrated storage combines flash memory and a controller in a compact design, offering significant advantages over traditional SD cards:
- Speed:
Sequential Read: Up to 250 MB/s (10× faster than standard SD cards)
Sequential Write: Up to 160 MB/s (10× faster than standard SD cards) - Durability:
Lifespan:100,000 read/write cycles (10× more endurance than SD cards) - Capacity Options: 16GB to 256GB
Ideal for continuous dash cam recording with enhanced reliability and faster data access."
Does the F77 Require an Additional SD Card?
No—the F77 comes with 128/256 GB built-in eMMC 5.1 memory. (similar to smartphones/tablets), eliminating the need for an extra SD card.
However, the F77 features an SD card slot for:
- Backup storage (transfer recorded videos)
- Playback flexibility (view footage directly from SD)
This provides added convenience without mandatory extra purchases.
How to Enable Parking Mode?
- Connect the hardwiring kit to your vehicle’s fuse box (included).
- The dash cam will automatically activate Parking Mode when the engine turns off.
- Battery protection ensures no excessive drain.
🔧 Installation Guide:
Can the Rear Camera Be Installed Outside the Vehicle?
No. The F77’s 4K rear camera is designed for interior installation(e.g., rear windshield) as it is not weatherproof. For optimal performance and durability, we recommend mounting it inside the cabin.
Is the F77 Compatible with Other Dash Cam Power Cables?
The F77 supports power cables from other RedTiger dash cams (e.g., F7N series). However, the 4K rear camera requires dedicated wiring and is not cross-compatible.
Important:
- Existing cables may power the main unit, but rear camera functionality will be lost.
- For full 4K dual recording, new cable routing is recommended.
Does the F77 Support Simultaneous Front & Rear Recording?
Yes. The F77’s dual-camera system records both front and rear views in real time, with live display on the screen. This ensures complete 360° coverage while driving or parked.
What is the Hardwire Kit for? Do I need to install it?
The Hardwire Kit is required to enable parking mode. Without it, the parking monitoring feature will not function. If you're not comfortable installing it yourself, we recommend visiting a local garage or asking a professional to help with the installation.

F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
A very good dashcam! Works perfectly as described. Can be neatly installed. Especially many congratulations to the Redtiger company with inimitable customer loyalty.👍🙏
F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
Redtiger Dash Cam F77 V2 is exactly the camera I dreamed of! I don't need to write all the features here. Everything is explained in detail on their official website, those who are curious can read it there. This camera has all the features I want. Also, communication with customer service and their help to you makes this camera even more valuable. I can't thank the customer service team enough, especially Emma. In short, a great camera and great people. I recommend you not to buy another camera without reviewing the Redtiger F77 V2 4K+4K dual dash cam.
F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
I like the dash cam but if coming with polarized filter for lens don't have reflection from the windshield
F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
Love it! Easy to install and use
F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
Awesome dashcam and easy to use. Video quality is perfect.
F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
Great video quality, but I feel like there are some aspects that could improve. The fact that there's a microSD card slot but the dash cam cannot support storage expansion makes it's obsolete. The 12V cigarette charger is so bulky that it doesn't fit in newer car models' cabin storage spaces (e.g. my Lexus NX 350). I had to feed the power cable from the back row seating's 12V port with barely any length left to make it to the optimal windshield position. The 12V cigarette charger also only has USB-A, where most of devices now support USB-C so having both would have been nice. Overall, it does the job, but I would be lying if I didn't have some regret purchasing this product.

F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
It's almost impossible to make out a license plate, no matter the weather or lighting conditions. The voice recognition is very finicky. Something is constantly being turned on or triggered.

F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
Easy to fit and use with the added bonus of protection in case any thing does happen while mobile or even parked up due to the hard wire kit.

F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
Only front cam running at 2,5K and this way I got a whole week of driving for my job on the F77V2's 256GB built-in memory. Had no problem then to copy the footage onto a 256GB SD-card to show to my boss and finally reformat the built-in memory of the dashcam for the next week.
F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
I havent fitted it yet, I have had to make a pod to go on the roof of the VW Caddy because the rear camera cant be fitted to the doors and it is not waterproof. If you offered a waterproof version more van users would buy it because not everyone has the skills/tools to make a fiiting for it. Also the power cable and the rear camera cable connectors would be easier if they were straight, 90 degree fittings are a pain to accomodate. because the cables come straight down into the front camera and can´t be grouped together for a neater installation. I have had to use adapter cables.
F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
I got the kit with the hard wiring harness. The accessories that come with the set are outstanding! Several adhesive patches in case something goes wrong the first time, clips to fix the cables in place, trim tools to hide the cable behind the trim, a really long connection cable for the two cameras, and, and that surprised me the most: adapters for your fuse box to steal power without touching the original wiring! 4 different fuse types, two of each! Easiest installation ever! The camera itself is self explanatory, easy to use and has a great resolution. I love it, and I’d buy it again in a heartbeat!
F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
System soweit ganz ok.

I had it installed rather than do it myself. It’s working great, good clear videos front and back. Easy to set up all the functions, on the camera just wish you could do it on the phone app. I would recommend.

Excellent customer service and an excellent product. Video quality is astonishing, installation and setup a breeze. I asked how to get the OBD2 adapter as it was not available on their website. The support team sent me one free of charge and it even arrived before the cameras... Outstanding in every aspcet.

F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
Great system easy to use, once set up it just does what it’s designed to do. And the built in memory is one less thing to worry about. One downside, the speaker sounds cheaper than my first transistor radio. Pleased it only produces beeps and not speech. Still no complaints overall so far.

Works great.
F77 STARVIS 2 4K+4K Dual IMX678 Voice Control 5.8GHz High Speed WIFI Dash Cam
Great camera front and back but be careful coz the footage is so good that the insurance companies will use it against you to get out of fighting a claim as happened to me recently 🤬
